Project Description

Top Shelf Project Management is playing a pivotal role in the revitalization of Downtown Indianapolis through the transformation of the historic Law Building into a modern marvel—an Aloft Hotel by Marriott International. Originally constructed in 1898 by the renowned Indiana architect Louis Henry Gibson, the 12-story building at 136 E. Market Street has a storied past, housing law offices and several banks over the years. With a comprehensive $30 million renovation, the project involved the installation of new structural steel and the addition of a stair tower on the north face.

Preserving the building’s classic character while infusing contemporary comfort and elegance for Aloft Hotel guests was a key focus. Noteworthy features include the conversion of the building’s original bank vault into an intimate lounge space. Upon completion, the 128-room hotel will offer a range of luxury amenities, providing guests with a sophisticated and comfortable retreat just steps away from Downtown Indianapolis’ iconic Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument.
