Top Shelf Real Estate Advisors recently completed the guestroom and public space renovation at the Hampton Inn in Sulphur, LA. This project was one of the early adopters of Hilton’s new Forever Young Design Scheme (FYI).
The guestrooms were completely renovated to include: carpet tile, paint (no wall vinyl due to being located in a warm humid climate), new draperies and cornice, artwork, soft seating, case goods, 42” TV’s, lighting, porcelain tile at entry, and vinyl wall base. In the suites, we also added custom wet bars.
The guest bathrooms received new porcelain tile, vinyl base, vinyl wall covering, vanities, shelving, artwork, and lighting. In addition to finishes, all ADA bathrooms were brought up to the 2010 ADA Standards.
In addition to the wall and floor finishes in the public space, the property received some new amenities; a new guest laundry was added, the business center was renovated, and an outdoor seating area with built-in gas grill and trellis was added.
Lastly, we addressed the deferred maintenance on the parking lot. This project included cutting out and patching areas that had deteriorated over time and then doing a complete asphalt overlay. We also added 15 additional parking spaces to the existing lot.
This was just phase one of this project. We will be heading back to Louisiana in 2018 to complete the FYI exterior renovation.
